1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using book2course ("the Service"), operated by book2course ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. By creating an account or uploading any content, you represent that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Description of Service

book2course is a web application that uses AI to transform PDF documents into structured learning courses with lessons, quizzes, and spaced repetition flashcards. We provide the Service on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

3. User Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity under it. You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Service.

4. User-Uploaded Content & Copyright Responsibility

1. By uploading any document to Book2Course, you represent and warrant that you own or have obtained all necessary rights, licenses, permissions, and authorizations to upload and process the content.
2. You acknowledge that uploading copyrighted material without proper authorization is a violation of these Terms and may constitute copyright infringement under applicable law.
3. Book2Course does not verify the copyright status of uploaded content. You are solely responsible for ensuring your uploads comply with all applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
4. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Book2Course, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your upload of content that infringes the rights of any third party.
5. Book2Course reserves the right to remove any content that we reasonably believe infringes copyright, and to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate this policy.

5. DMCA Compliance

Book2Course respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

If you believe content on our platform infringes your copyright, please submit a DMCA takedown notice to our designated agent. See our DMCA Policy page for the full procedure and required information.

We maintain a repeat infringer policy. Users who repeatedly upload infringing content will have their accounts terminated.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload content you do not have the right to use
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service
• Resell or redistribute generated course content commercially without permission
• Upload malicious files or content designed to exploit the system

7. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of the documents you upload. However, you grant Book2Course a limited, non-exclusive license to process, transform, and store your uploaded content solely for the purpose of generating course materials for your personal educational use.

The AI-generated course content (lessons, quizzes, flashcards) derived from your documents is provided for your personal educational use only. You may not redistribute, sell, or commercially exploit AI-generated course content without our written permission.

The Book2Course platform, brand, software, and underlying AI technology remain our intellectual property.

8. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Course content, lessons, quizzes, and flashcards are generated by artificial intelligence. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions.

AI-generated content is not a substitute for professional advice, academic instruction, or authoritative sources. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any information before relying on it.

Book2Course does not guarantee that AI-generated content is free from bias, factual errors, or misinterpretations of the source material.

9. Data Processing & Storage

When you upload a document, it is stored securely in our cloud infrastructure and processed by AI to generate course content.

Uploaded documents are retained for as long as your account is active and the associated course exists. You may delete courses from your dashboard, which will also remove the associated source document.

We do not use your uploaded content to train AI models. Your documents are processed in isolated sessions and not shared with other users.

10. Payments & Subscriptions

Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly as selected. You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing page. Upon cancellation, you retain access until the end of your current billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us at support@book2course.org.

11. Usage Limits

Each plan includes monthly limits for book and note uploads. Limits reset on your billing cycle date each month. Unused uploads do not roll over.

12. Refund Policy

If a course generation fails due to a system error, the upload will not count against your monthly limit.

Subscription refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us at support@book2course.org within 14 days of your billing date to request a refund.

13. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies — it is your responsibility to verify important information.

14. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from Settings, which will remove your data from our systems. We specifically reserve the right to immediately terminate accounts that repeatedly upload copyrighted content without authorization, in accordance with our repeat infringer policy.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify users of significant changes via email or in-app notice.
